Taiwan has indigenous peoples. These are people who lived in Taiwan first. They were here thousands of years before other people came. Today, there are 16 main groups.

Each group has its own language and culture. They have traditional clothing with beautiful colors. Many have special patterns and designs. The clothing is worn during festivals.
