Bubble Tea - The Drink That Took Over the World

Reading Passage

Bubble tea is a delicious drink from Taiwan. It was invented in the 1980s. The drink has tea, milk, and chewy balls called tapioca pearls. These balls are also called “boba.” That is why some people call it boba tea.

The tapioca pearls are made from a plant called cassava. They are chewy and a little sweet. You drink bubble tea with a big straw so the pearls can go through. It is fun to chew on the pearls!
