The Formosan black bear is a special animal that lives in Taiwan. It has black fur and a white mark on its chest. The mark looks like the letter V. People say it looks like the moon. This bear is the largest animal that lives on land in Taiwan.

These bears live in the mountains and forests. They like quiet places far from people. They eat fruit, nuts, leaves, and small animals. They are good at climbing trees. They can also swim in rivers.

Sadly, the Formosan black bear is in danger. There are only about 200 to 600 bears left. Many bears lose their homes when people cut down trees. Some bears get hurt in traps that hunters set for other animals.

Many people in Taiwan want to 保護 these bears. Scientists study them and put small radios on them. The radios help scientists know where the bears go. Workers also teach children about the bears. They want children to love and save this 稀有的 animal.

You can help too. Do not buy things made from bear parts. Tell your friends about the Formosan black bear. If we all work together, we can save this beautiful animal. The bears need clean forests and safe homes. We hope these bears will live in Taiwan for many years and that more babies will be born in the 荒野.
