Do you like buying new clothes? Many people love fashion — the popular styles we see in stores. Today, new clothes arrive in shops every week. This is called “fast fashion.” Fast fashion means clothes are made very quickly and sold at low prices. People buy many clothes because they are so 安い.
Most fast fashion clothes are made in big factory buildings in other countries. Workers make hundreds of clothes every day. These factories use a lot of water and energy. For example, making one pair of jeans can use more than 7,000 liters of water. This is very hard on our planet.
When clothes are no longer popular, many people throw them away. This creates a lot of waste. Every year, millions of pieces of clothing end up in the ground. It takes many years for old clothes to break down. This is a big problem for our environment.
Fast fashion also makes our water and air dirty. The colors used to dye clothes can go into rivers and oceans. Fish and other animals can get sick. Dirty water from factories can also pollute the air. People who live near these factories sometimes have health problems.
What can we do to help? We can recycle old clothes by giving them to other people or charity shops. We can also choose to buy fewer new clothes and look for items that last a long time. Small changes in our habits can help protect our planet.
